Fail
Primal year, day 1: FAIL.
I kicked back all ten little piggies in a blanket at the NYE party last night, which may have been my saving grace. The bottomless glass of champagne did me in. If not for the alcohol-absorbing "blankets," I may be writing apology notes to the party hosts today instead of thank you notes.
Hungover with a queasy stomach and an empty pantry is not the way to start strong on new year's resolutions. My first meal of the year? Cinnamon-raisin bagel with cream cheese, fetched from Whole Foods by my hungry hubby.
Dinner was better: leftover roasted veggies (broccoli, celery root, parsnips), leftover pot roast and poached eggs,
Biksemad-style. I think there's an English word for this dish too, but I can't think of what it is. I always called it scrapple, but that's something entirely different. Anyone know what this dish is called?
I'm planning to track my progress with this project throughout the year, measured in weight, inches, body composition and blood tests. I forgot to weigh myself this morning, but I took measurements and photos today to document the "before" state of my body. I don't have calipers to test body composition, but I can attach a demoralizing number of binder clips to my midsection.
I'll make an appointment for blood work soon, to get a starting baseline for cholesterol levels, etc. I'd also like to get a biosignature analysis. First, I should probably find a doctor, and request my medical records from Missouri for comparison.
What else can I measure? Suggestions welcome!
